Outcasts...
Feb. 25th, 2011 05:21 pmSo I finally caught Episode 1... well, he said brightly, actually I quite liked it...
No, that's a lie. I went in having read all your reviews and had such low expectations it would have to plumb new depths to match my expectations and, frankly, it didn't quite manage that.
It was slow. It was tedious. It was, in the words of one review I read, as if the Earth had sent the entire Gogafrinchum Ark B to colonize Carpathia - and, while we're at it, WTF? The ship that rescued survivors from the frickin' Titantic? Lots of other names spring to mind.
Then there's the 5 year journey... hmmm... that sounds awfully fast even with a degree of time dilation. Best not to go there either.
My other thought was, they sent 1 shuttle per ship? Eh? EH? Who was the mission planner? The same idiots who did the planning for the trip in The Sparrow? Another thought. You travel fly at close to light speed but you can't re-enter an atmosphere under constant thrust?
My final thought. So they took several Ikeas with them then?
