We're off on holiday on Sunday - I'm panicking slightly at the huge volume of stuff I have to do before then, but never mind. I took lunch time off to finish something I agreed to do at the outset. I'm the AV king for the holiday. I've been pulling together some movies on my new Shiny and making sure we have a means to watch them regardless of the AV set up in the place we're going to.
One of the parts of my geek kit is a Optima Pico Projector which has already earned it's keep in a couple of meetings where I was able to "whip" it out and have a proper presentation up on a screen. The rest of the set up is cabling... with that in place I just did a systems test of all the AV stuff running off my iPad and in a moment off my iPod touch... generally speaking it's working like a dream. The DLP projector isn't great in normal light conditions but it's adequate, especially for watching movies as a group - it's certainly a step up from a conventional 28" TV which is the alternative in the Villa we're renting (how a place like we're going to still have a normal TV is beyond me.)
And, in case you're wondering, why would we be taking movies on holiday... we'll we're old farts. So there!
