In my time dealing with the libertarian and "conservative" (the quotes are there because I'm really not convinced these yahoos deserve to be called conservatives) mindset, I've come across a few constants.

One of them is a degree of Orwellian word twisting which would, in fact, have made Stalin and a few others have to sit down and let out a long, loud whistle in surprise.

Rand Simberg, of Transterrestrial Musings, has been a master of this for the 15 odd years I've know his online persona.  He'll make an argument, he'll be called on it and then, immediately, crawl up into a void of his own making, claiming that everybody in the world understands him except for you, and the rest of the dumb liberals who don't understand English.

Here's an example of his current lunatic hypocrisy here.  The thesis presented for consideration is this.  On a "left" leaning email list, various people made some comments about the kind of treatments that they would like to see given to various odious individuals like Beck et al...  Rand's position is that you would never see that kind of posturing or comment from the right wing.  When a commenter gives an example of out and out racism, vis-a-vie, calling for a bout of good hearted Muslim extermination, Rand responds that it's not the same thing...  Muslims aren't a Race...

Words, naturally fail me.

There's a similar piece of insanity over at the Spectator, where Jeff Lords has taken issue with Ms Sherrod describing the murder of her relative as a lynching.  Apparently, his murder by a cop and another person, by beating, in the street, while people watched with interest, before he was dragged back into the courthouse to die, wasn't a lynching because the mob that killed him only had 2 active members.  Therefore, and this is REALLY, the best part - Sherrod lied about it.

The clever bit here is his original article, in good journalistic style, gets in with the lead and then buries the story leaving anybody who glances through it to think she lied about the murder, which she did not.  Just that a Supreme Court with a KKK member on it, found that at the time this didn't count as a lynching.  Lovely eh?

What beggars belief on this is the way in which Lords, Breitbart, Beck and others can outright lie and fake stories and get away with it without anybody on their side of the political divide seeming to care.

And they claim that the media is liberally biased?  Bollocks.  Given they still get airtime, I'd argue it's not remotely biased enough, and the bias out to be towards the facts.
