Random Thoughts

1) There is no such thing as a quick game of Civ - but a couple of games on Settler level under my belt and I think I'm ready to tackle something harder.

2) The version of Civ for the iPhone sucks.  I need a tablet that plays Civ - then I think I'll withdraw from the universe for a few months.

3) There's a discussion about Jasper Fforde having a problem with Fan Fiction about Thursday Next which is indicating that he should know better.  I'm in two minds about that as I don't remotely class what he does as Fan Fiction for any of the settings or characters he steals... er... ahem... "uses"

4) There's a thread on David Friedman's blog that hurt my eyes.  Best not to look again.

Smallville...

I've been re-watching this as I kinda gave up on it around Series 1.

Does Clark project somekind of IQ lowering field around him?   Seriously, how many times does Lana have to get upset with Clark about X only to find out later that he was actually right?

It seems to be a major plot point of half the stories.

That was so good.  So good, it actually stopped me playing Civ. 

I am beginning to remember why I gave up on Smallville

Ugh.  Too much 25 going on 18 angst.

I wonder what it looks like now that the protagonists are all 30something going on early 20s.  I was pretty youngish looking until I hit my early 30s, but it's been downhill all the way after that :)
