Sad April 1

I had to go to a meeting yesterday and as I was driving a dog ran out across the road in front of the car ahead of me.  There wasn't a lot he could do and he hit it pretty hard.  I stopped, blocking the road and he reversed back to take a look.  I'm not sure if he was going to stop, mind you, until he saw I'd got out and was moving traffic around us.

The dog was in a lot of pain and then very still.  It was pretty clear she was in a bad way.

I don't know how she'd got out nor what she was doing on 23rd, but she had tags and I placed the call, leaving a message for the owner to get in touch with me.  The driver who'd hit her took her to the Vet.

I got a call from the owner today.  "Helen" didn't make it :(

I gave my furkids some extra treats and attention this afternoon.  Shitty thing to see, shitty thing to be part of.
