This last weekend has involved 2 trips to the Seattle Center to see various cultural items.  The first, Wishful Drinking, is Carrie Fisher's one woman show based on her book of the same name.  It's an interesting voyage through her life and her problems with addiction and mental illness.  Many, many worthy gags in there and she had a lot of positive things to say and portray about the problems of living with bipolar disorder.  Well worth seeing.

We followed this with a trip to see Walking With Dinosaurs at the Key Arena.  One of the things I remember as a kid was wanting to have full size robot dinosaurs.

Well.  There they were.  Gosh.  Wow.  I mean, seriously they were freekin' awesome!!!

Only downside, hell is other people's children.

Actually, hell is some other people's children.  For the most part the kids were awesomely well behaved and I can't have a problem with a kid squeeling with delight and shouting "STEGOSAURUS!" before the narrator said the name.  That kind of thing shows a well rounded kid destined for a long happy period with Role Playing Games and Fandom.

The kids behind us, however, didn't f'king shut up and nor did their parents try to stop them from saying the first pointless and inane thing that came into their vacant, vapid little heads.  "It's gone dark mommy.","it's growling daddy.", "why are the rocks moving?" (that got asked about 15 times in succession.

The kid next to us, her of the "Stegosaurus" cry even started going "Shhh..."

Anyway, a fantastic spectacle and something that makes me glad that we live in such interesting times.
