Seattle Drivers Suck!
Nov. 16th, 2008 03:15 pmWell, there goes a car.
Somebody broadsided M while she was driving up John St last night. They "can't remember" if they stopped at the stop sign. The Police who attended were fairly sure that she couldn't have.
M is fine but a little shaken up. The back drivers side is finished, the airbags deployed and the front passenger side has actually "popped" out of alignment - suggesting that the chasis is now a nice trapezoid shape. Oh, and the impact spun the car blowing out one of the tires. We're really lucky that there were no injuries.
On the plus side her insurance has already called to say that they're accepting 100% liability, so we're just waiting to see if they total the car (write off as we say where I come from) - I expect they are. Sub-frames don't come back economically from that kind of damage.
So we're going to get a hire car and then a new car for Christmas.
