Well, perhaps not quite but it's been a busy weekend.

I've completed the daunting task of tidying the cabling behind the TV.  It had got out of hand and was suffering badly from 18 months of throwing in and taking out various bits of kit without really any thought or plan.

I've now dumped the DVD player (I've a Toshiba DVD player spare if anybody wants to try cleaning the laser head), moved all the Ethernet kit to somewhere tidy.  Rewired the surround shound (not to mention got that working too... more on that in a mo).  Repositioned a couple of boxes and plugged the Wii into something neater.

The Surround sound has been bugging me as I couldn't get the Optical SPDIF output on the Media Center working, but then when I was looking at the back of the TV I realised I could use the HDMI audio throughput from the PC and pass through back into the amp.

Voila!  Working surround sound and a working Media Center.

So far all DVDs AND BluRays are playing like a dream.  Good stuff and the Shuttle case is pretty slick looking.

Now I just need to tidy the office (again) and the weekend is complete.
