Jun. 27th, 2008 11:08 amUsing the Free WiFi at San Diego, drinking a coffee and looking at the bonkers queue for security. Fortunately now I've got my Alaska MVP Gold status confirmed a couple of things come with it. Firstly I can queue jump at San Diego airport and secondly they have started with the upgrades. Yay to both.
I'm seriously thinking of canning my proposed July 14th trip because I have a meeting I need to be at in SF and SD, perhaps I'll push back a week or two because I am needed in Ireland and Copenhagen in August. But not too far into August because I'm also getting ready for my trip to Space Camp.
I have the Doctor's appointment for the Scuba certificate and I really am trying to get my general fitness up. The regular 2-3 mile walks are helping a lot there, so the raison d'etre for Tyson (apart from the lovable nature, unlimited licks and ever wagging tail) was to force me to walk even if I couldn't force myself to the gym and on the plus side I'm doing both. Still way too heavy and I've not lost much weight but I'm wearing a size smaller in trousers and some of my shirts are looking a little comical on me, but I'll not object. The shorts I bought this time last year are practically unwearable now and the shorts I've had a lot longer but are fractionally too tight won't be for long. I can't claim the heroic weight loss of the Magician but I have taken some heart from his stuff. In desperation I bought a snickers yesterday, looked at it and gave it away again. I was even tempted away from the Pate and Rack of Lamb at the client dinner for the Ahi Sashimi and Halibut. So there.
