Powerline Meltdown
Jan. 27th, 2008 02:43 pmWell that's actually a tad melodramatic, what happened is that over the last week or so the throughput on the Powerline network has dropped right through the floor making it impossible to watch any file larger than about 400MB/hour over the network, effectively ruling out any of the current DVDs or media.
So I've gone back to the Wireless-N option and done some more googling on the problems I've been having with my Linksys router. A couple of fiddles later and the Media Centre has jumped to showing 200MBs plus excellent signal and seems to be handling everything including the bleedin' enormous Torchwood file I got the other day. So far, so good. I will have to have a serious look at the whole media storage thing but I don't want to do that until I need to.
