Don't Try That Again

PC just crashed horribly.  I suspect it was probably because I was trying to do the following all at the same time:
 - downloading a few hundred MB from a news group
 - ripping a DVD to MP4 
 - copying a video to the iPod
 - Converting a large AVI to MP4
 - Chatting with somebody on IM
 - Trying to rename a file before porting to iTunes

I have a feeling that it was too much for the system.  The video format conversion software seems to really really hammer the machine.
