Medical Malarky...
Jul. 9th, 2007 12:36 pmWent to see our Doctor today, or at least register. Given that I'm paying for it, I wasn't overwhelmed to find that it involved the usual waiting around for people get to see you that I'm used to back in the UK.
The goal was to check my BP, the last of my NHS Rampiril ran out a month ago and with our vacation and the fact that they need 2 weeks notice for appointments that aren't emergency meant I had to wait.
The bad news is I've put on weight, which puts me at an all time personal best. That's something that I have to deal with more.
The good news was the BP was only borderline high, even using the US preferences on the subject, I was in the 130/80s - which the Doctor mentioned wasn't too bad if I'd been up at 160/100s less than a year ago.
He's renewed the Rampiril and obviously recommends more exercise and less food, but thinks it looks good to get off it completely shortly. That's quite comforting.
I suspect that the recent reduction in stress at work has helped.
