O'Neills Abroad Redux
Jun. 21st, 2006 01:22 pmI met with the CEO of North America on Monday afternoon in Sweden. He's asked me what I want and outlined what they are prepared to offer. In general, a few details aside, we are in pretty close agreement. I'll stay on my UK package until next year and have the current commission scheme etc... until then. On the plus side, they have agreed that I can keep my European holiday allowances, not that I actually use it but it's nice to know that it's there.
So, today I've started on the paperwork for my L2 Intracompany Transfer Visa with a goal of moving over to Seattle in mid-October. As part of the relocation package we'll be put up in a company flat for several months (haggling over 3 or 6 at the moment), probably in the same block the engineers are using in Belltown. Then early in '07 we'll have to find ourselves an apartment/house somewhere in the city.
This means that M is going to have to find herself a job and have some time off. Her visa will take about 4 weeks longer than mine.
There are some interesting side effects of this. Firstly it will mean a break from US travel while the Visa is sorted. However, if we fast track this it won't take too long, 4-6 weeks typically. Secondly, it means I have to come up with some interesting data for the application.
Most interestingly of all is a request for details of EVERY trip I've made to the USA in the last 6 years.
Ummm... could I have an extra piece of paper please???
