Viva Las Vegas
May. 7th, 2006 11:00 pmHot here isn't it? 30ish in real money. I've been for a walk, bought a hat - which I stupidly didn't bring with me, and also got hosed on suncreen which I equally stupidly didn't bring and I'm not prepared to hide in my room all day.
Finished Rainbow's End sitting by the pool. First impressions are excellent. But I'll have to read it again to get some of the subtle stuff I missed.
Just catching up on some email and preparation for tomorrow and the exhibition set up. Unlike last year, our stand is actually here.
However, I still don't much care for Vegas. The casinos are smoke ridden. The mix of people is hard to take - things will quiet down mid-week, but it's a zoo out there at the moment. The Venetian was certainly one of the shining stars when I first came here in 2001 but it is showing signs of wear and tear. I looked at the new construction and thought about the change in themes. It occurs to me that a short starting:
"It happened the day they openned the Hogswarts Casino, on the site of the old Venetian..." or some such, might be fun.
Anyway, I've a PDF to read on Exhibition rules and then I might go and check out the rules in the Poker room.
