Another Trip Over...
Jan. 31st, 2005 07:27 pmOuch. I should not have travelled really. The chest infection wasn't clear and I spent a pretty grim week coughing my way through meetings. Still, the business was worthwhile and we seem to have reached some agreements - everything is in place for some productive meetings at 3GSM the week after next and then some follow up in Seattle at the end of Feb.
Looked like a pack animal at security as I had several phones to carry - interestingly they were really interested in the phones but from a cool perspective. This batch do actually look rather nice although the one I am using at the moment certainly doesn't have the power management under control, not in the way that they were claiming it was in Redmond. Plus Ca Change...
No upgrades on the way back. The penalty of flying on a Friday was the busiest airplane I've ever seen - full in all classes and Silver card holders were behind Gold in the queue. As it happened I had a great chat with the guy next to me (who's team were up in Club while he, their boss, was in World Traveller Plus) - he was a senior structural engineer from Boeing flying out to Moscow to adapt 747s to carry complete 787 fuselages in them. Cool stuff. He was also the designer of the slightly oval windows on the 777. We swapped cards and agreed to have a beer next time I was in town.
It was interesting to hear the opinion of a Boeing employee about Airbus and the A380. All good fun and made things swim past.
Sadly, still arrived suffering. Took today off, still feeling crud, will also take tomorrow off and might go to the Doctor. Although I suspect that, like last time this happened, I will find that I've got over the infection all by myself and needed anti-biotics a week ago. *sigh*
Still, nice to be home even if my darling M is stuck out in Frankfurt.
In other news I am 99% sure I'll be going to Corflu.
