Sunny in San Diego...

The Sun has arrived, which is nice. There's a marina outside my current hotel window. However, later I am moving to the Seaworld Travelodge which, I suspect doesn't have a Marina outside. However, it will have my friend's from Preston who are all in LA - so we'll be having some British fandom in the sun.

LAst night I was reminded of all the things that I love and hate about California. After a stunning Mexican at the "Old Town Mexican Cafe" - Magician take note if you come here next year. The Pork Carnita's were simply amazing. Andy and I decided that a drink would soothe our frazzled nerves from 2 days of networking and mobile phone talk. We wandered up to the nearest bar. The British doorman looked at our Driving Licenses and then... "Got your passports boys?"

WTF? No I bloody well haven't, it's in my room where it belongs. Good damnit I am not just over 21 I'm pushing fecking 40!

*sigh*

We found another place where they served Yards of ale. That was an *odd* experience. Got chatting to a bunch of locals who were asking us about Europe and how they could get in. Warmed the cockles of my heart.

Anyway, I'll probably write up the conference on Atomicrazor. And now, I see a lardy breakfast in my immediate future. Still, it's not the same without Black pudding....
