Thank you to all the correspondants concerning my dilema and what to do about my boss and upgrades.

So, as usual I was polite and friendly with check in staff and lo! when the MD checked in they said, "ah, yes sir, your associate has checked in and we've upgraded you to sit together..."

The MD was rather impressed and astounded that I pulled it off.

I think having friend's in the right places helps. :)

Ugh...

I've been flying long haul on business regularly for over 2 years - you would think, that just, perhaps, it would get easier. Nope.

So here it is, 5.45 when I finally gave up on lying in bed, I've done some work email, had a couple of phone calls and I think I'll hit the hotel gym for an hour.

Then, this being Seattle, I guess I'll have a coffee. It's the "thing", you know...
