Wide awake at 4.30am - it must be jet lag. *sigh*
Work crap to return to, senior management being, well, senior management - glad I'm off on holiday on Wednesday - this way I can probably blame any problems on them and not look like a fool to my client.
Note to self - talk to client about job?
Tomorrow we are buying a newer car - nothing flash, just nicer than the shed we currently have - a 2000 Ford Mundaneo, plus we're inheriting a newer TV from friends. Is my life so sad that I am getting excited about a newer car and TV?
Also tomorrow we're having a BBQ with some friends including the Ultra-Cool Fred Chieux who is visiting us from the USA. Fred is an ex-pro golfer, ex-lawyer, ex (almost succesful) dot.com millionaire and many other things. He's one of those people who you should always keep in touch with. He's just done an MBA and has a job with IBM Consulting.
In other news: M had an interview with the Beast this week. They called to say that they didn't think she'd like the job she was interviewed for, but they really liked her and have another role for her to consider(!) - she also had a call from the NHS where she had applied for the new leadership programme, they want her to attend the 2nd round of the selection process.
So, as we prepare for hols she has 2 second interviews, a contract possibility (2 years SAP implementation) and something else.
Things are looking up from a year ago.
