I'm packing my briefcase for travel tomorrow, and the collection of stuff I have to take in it is just getting silly...

Book/books (not sure, I've almost finished the Buffett - might have to buy something else at the airport - the new Lindsey Davies ought to be in the travellers only section of Books Etc... at Terminal 4

I think that's it.

I've never really handled the idea of traveling lite. For an 8 day business trip I must admit I like to take clean underwear, shirts and at least 2 pairs of trousers with shoes. This all mounts up and it's a rare trip I'm carrying less than 22kg.

I traveled with a colleague who managed a week's trip with a small carry on bag - I assume that he had the hotel laundry washing stuff every day.

Weekend...

For reasons too strange to go into here we went to the Seaside - Weston-super-mare in fact. It's always hard going to the English coast with M, she thinks of beaches, sun, waves, surfers etc... when she thinks of the beach. People huddled under blankets on deck chairs on muddy sand isn't the same.

Still she seemed to have fun. There were donkey's to play with,
a pier with fun fair on the end and excellent fish and chips - the thing is... we went to buy something which would save us $30 or so while on holiday... However, after fish and chips, a trip down the pier (going on ghost train and the dodgems) and buying a couple of odds and sods, I can't help feeling it was a false economy. Still, it was sort of fun.
