Aug. 9th, 2004 12:16 pmI didn't have high hopes going into this one. So I was pleasantly surprised. The plus points - interesting future, the background technology works - something which it often doesn't seem to. There's a scene in a bar where Will Smith pays for a round of drinks which is excellent.
On the minus side, it really would work with the Asimov references removed. Susan Calvin is too good looking.
It's not a classic, but it was never going to be. I'd rather have seen them do the same with Caves of Steel with Smith as Bailey. If you like action movies with some good one liners and nice technology, you'll probably like this. If you're an Asimov purest, probably best not to bother.
