Another BBQ
Jun. 3rd, 2004 10:49 amI was going to come home on Tuesday, but another friend had another birthday which led to another BBQ. So I extended my holiday by a day (although it did mean I didn't get out of working) and went to Chris' place.
Chris is a rather sucessful commercial artist who does many many many book covers. Many of his book covers have spaceships on them, those that don't have aeroplanes - so it was nice to see his place, and his art. He probably does the other book covers that Jim Burns doesn't do.
His house is astounding. It's about 5 miles beyond the back of beyond, and certainly we passed a moor with a local shop, and by gum, there were local people.
But I did like his house - and his artwork was terrific. A pleasant evening watching the sun set over the fields, I stuck to water and Diet Tizer on the grounds that my liver had been punished enough for one life time.
Then we wended our weary way home.

Battlestar Galactica
Jun. 3rd, 2004 10:54 amI was leant the DVD of the new Battestar Galactica at the weekend. I had avoided this as frankly the old one didn't do much for me, and I was of the opinion I'd like to see new SF being made and not old stuff churned.
