So, a solid business trip, but some things conspired to make the trip home a bit annoying.

There was something distinctly "odd" happening on the plane home. I know that cabin crews for some solid reasons dislike the Seattle run, but there was definately something up with them on the way back.

For a start they did no upgrades - business class on the lower deck was practically empty which is unusual. I don't recall seeing that on routes from Heathrow - even thought Premium Economy was full, they didn't move anybody.

Then the crew started being sarcastic to the passengers over the tannoy, which while amusing didn't gell with previous experiences - "Ladies and Gentlemen, you will be pleased to know that for your meals today, for a change, you can have the choice of Chicken OR Beef..." When somebody infront of me asked what the chicken was, the woman replied, "a furry one..."

The woman in question turned out to be the Cabin Services Director - an exhalted rank who I don't normally expect to see serving meals in Economy.

Apart from that there was a general feeling of an atmosphere and that everything was just too much trouble. The CSD herself seemed to be an odd type and I'd be interested in knowing whether that can have an affect on an entire crew.

In other news... I saw the Northern Lights - very interesting it was too. I took a look to see if I'd see some meteors, instead the sky over the plane was a shimmering wall of pale green light. Really odd. But cool.

I'll try not to think about cosmic radiation though.

Watched "Pirates of the Carribean", once I had dealt with Depp's "interesting" accent I really rather enjoyed it. I then watched the last 20 minutes of Lara Croft 2, that was more than ample to mean I didn't have to watch the rest.
