Yet More Boring Travel Stuff
May. 30th, 2003 03:00 pmMy meetings in Seattle have been arranged so I've got to go. My travel options are now:
1. United: Heathrow - Chicago - Seattle
Pro's: Good(ish) inflight entertainment, reasonably modern fleet
Con's: Crap airline, bad times
2. KLM: Bristol - Amsterdam - Seattle
Pro's: Convenient flights, good times
Con's: Crap airline out of Amsterdam (the flight is run by Northwest Airlines on DC-10s!), even crapper inflight movies (can you believe there are still airlines which only have a main cabin movie for economy class?
I suspect the KLM option is going to be the most practical, given thats only a 30 minute taxi ride from home. Still, I suppose its only DVT after all.
EDIT OF THE EDIT
Air Canada has appeared as an option (seat pitch 34")
Is now booked - via Vancouver, I tried to persuade my boss to fly me business class, and got a "when you win the business..." response. So there's hope yet.
(At the very least BA Premium Economy is pretty good)
Crap inflight entertainment, and a question mark on the drinks policy (they appear to only have a limited range of alcoholic beverages for free...) however, it'll do.
