Apparently, there are a lot of people trying to get "God" into the proposed
European Union Constitution Not something I'd be happy with. It pains me enough that I live in a country with a state religion and its an area where I believe the US consitution has got it right. The right to worship as you wish should be yours and there should be no state involvement of any kind on that right.
I had no choice when I was young. As Monty Python said, "the one thing you can say about Catholics is, they'll have you the moment you're warm..." - however, 10 years of Catholic education left me firmly agnostic. Not militantly so. I'm seriously skeptic about any religion or pseudo-science, but that's my choice.
As somebody reminded me at the weekend, Stephen Fry said of Astrology, something I can relate to most of this debate. "It is a terrible thing to believe in [something], for it is always terribly to be very very stupid."
But people are and they shouldn't be limited in that.
