Random TV News thoughts...
Mar. 23rd, 2003 04:58 pmI'm turning into something of a news junky, flicking endlessly from Sky (certainly the most glossy) through BBC (very dry delivery) and ITN (tabloid)... then I found we also have MSNBC - interestingly CNN isn't part of our cable package.
I have had a number of highly sureal WTF moments with MSNBC - top of the list being the interview with the missile commander on one of the US ships. She gave the reporter a tour of the control centre and, with a completely straight delivery, said earnestly that her prime concern was to deliver the Tomahawks to where they were needed, bang on time. Hmmm...
The only thing lacking from the scene was a set of personalised mugs and a water cooler.
Then there was the interview with people at an army base in some out of the way part of the US which was very peculiar.
