The Eternal Sunday Feeling...
Feb. 16th, 2003 05:32 pmActually, its quite nice. The last few months have been monsterously hectic and last weekend and especially this weekend are the first in ages where I feel like its Sunday today. We went to dinner with friends on Friday and had some other friend's over on Saturday night. Today I watched Ireland cream Scotland at Murryfield (yay!) and I've read 2 big fat Sunday papers. It's only the looming need to travel tomorrow on business which is a slight cloud on the horizon.
Odd things happened too: our friend Sean has married an American and it was interesting to see Britain through the eyes of an American, especially one working on temp contracts in the NHS - I must admit I felt sorry for that. They could get her a work permit for the EEA in about 3 days, whereas Sean's permits for the US will take up to 6 months. But sadly moving to a house share in Earlsfield in February, from Florida, probably isn't exactly going to show Britain at its best.
I hate Jan and Feb with a vengence, but there are few places in the world I like more than England in spring time. Roll on April/May.
Still, they are moving to Florida and Sean was brought up in South Africa, so I can hardly blame them...
Oh, and double yay-ness for the Rugby yesterday too. Now I have to work out who to support when England and Ireland play...
