Came back from a day trip to Munich yesterday and got an amzing view of London as we came in. Holding for a landing slot we flew along the North Bank of the Thames, turning over docklands before lining up for the approach along the south bank.

Every looked terribly nice and all lit up. Took my mind right off the fact that GWB seems to have managed in a few years what certain factions failed to do in decades. What an amazing young man he really is.

Screwed up my transport connections getting home though. Thought I was being clever getting a lift to Swindon rather than take the train to Paddington and then home. Of course, I had just missed a train at Swindow and ended up getting on the train I would have caught if I'd gone the long way round. Would you believe it?

Would you believe how miserable Swindon is?

Anybody remember Duck and Cover? Or protect and survive? Well, now we have a noughties version...

From CNN.com

• Have on hand three days' worth of water and food, an emergency supply kit for both home and automobile, radios with extra batteries, and plastic sheeting and duct tape to seal windows and doors.
• Make a plan for contacting family members in an emergency.
• Learn about different types of attacks so you will know what to do in an emergency.
• Do not cancel events or travel plans
• Be especially aware of your surroundings and the events happening around you

American's with more time to prepare might check out the government's guidelines on assembling a "disaster plan" taking other steps to protect people and property at nominal expense. Such a guide can be found at www.fema.gov and www.whitehouse.gov/homeland.

Just finished watching last night's episode...

Mmmm... Enjoyed that.

Now if only they'd let Russell T Davies bring back Doctor Who. :-)
